So I decided to start this blog as an archive for Averie as she grows and one day I am hoping to let her read these, maybe on her wedding day or one day when my first grandchild is born. I know I am 3 months late in getting this started but hey, I've been a bit busy...lol. So with all that said, here we go!!! August 1, 2011, the day that changed our lives forever! It all started about 9 pm on July 31st as Billy and I sat down to eat and watch the last episode Entourage. Not even 30 seconds after I finished eating my tater tots and was about to chow down on a burger, I felt as if I peed my pants. I looked at Billy in an odd fashion as it happened again. He asked if I was ok and all I could say was...ummm....I think so? I handed him my plate as I went into the bathroom because we both thought my water broke. So of course since I had no clue if I did or not, I asked him to bring me the iPad so that I could google it, yes I googled water breaking. With no help from that I cleaned my self up, put a towel on the couch and went to eat my burger. Well I had lost my appetite and decided to call the doctor. Not contracting or having any braxon/hicks my entire pregnancy, she told me to sit tight for a little bit. I am the worrying type so I explained to her in detail everything that happened and she told me to go ahead and head to the hospital. Well if anyone knows Billy, they know that he is a HUGE Entourage fan and since this was the last episode EVER, he asked if we could finish watching it......I said sure why not! I started to get stuff ready as we were at his apartment and I had NOTHING. We never finished the episode and got in the car and stopped at HEB, then my house to get my mom and pack my bag. Mind you I had nothing packed since she wasn't due for another 3 weeks. We finally got to the hospital about an hour and a half later, I was admitted and put back in triage. I was at this point 1 cm dilated and 70 % efaced. They gave me some pain meds and oh so delicious ice chips and I crashed out. I finally got to a L&D room and went back to sleeping. They asked if I wanted to go ahead and get the epidural done since my doctor isn't one to make me wait for it. I got the epidural, which was painless by the way, seriously my IV hurt worse, and crashed back out again. Billy and my mom were both sleeping at this point too. Around 9ish Monday morning ( all of this is kind of blurry for me since I was heavily drugged) my nurse came in to check on me and I had stopped at 7 cm, so they started the pitocin(sp) to get the show on the road.....little to their knowledge it def got it going! My nurse was in another room so a different one came in to check on me around 10:45 am, and to her surprise, I was ready to start pushing. Now mind you, I am passed out asleep as if everyone in the room, Andrea, my sister-in-law was there too! So the nurse started rattling off orders and pulled out the stirrups and started getting me ready to go. Billy at this time chunked a deuce and said let me know when she is here...lol. The nurse was a bit taken back by this and questioned him as he was leaving. Me and him both had agreed that he wasn't going to be in there for the delivery. So here we go....Mom on one side holding my leg and Andrea on the other side since they had given me to much of the epidural I couldn't feel anything, they eventually had to stop it completely so that I could start feeling the contractions and know when to push. My doctor mind you almost missed it since the elevator was out and she had to hoof it up the stairs. She got there in time and after about 45 mins of pushing, my little miracle was born. Averie Mae Woodward, 5 lbs 7 ounces, 18.5 in long. Now I won't go into all the oogey details of everything after she was here but I wouldn't change it for the world. Even being 3 weeks early she was perfect. Round head, plump lips and the cutest little hands and feet ever! Life has def not been the same since she has arrived but I wouldn't change it for the world! She is everything and more all bundled up in one tiny package. As she sits here with me, 3 months later, I can't imagine life without her here!
